What a great feeling it is, seeing the fruits of your labour come to life. Once an unrealized and ambitious dream, we are so happy to have participated in our first ever fashion show.
In case you missed it, on Sunday, August 29th, Bânu Magnifique participated in the grand opening show for the Vancouver. Independent. Fashion. Flair. (VIFF) end-of-summer event. Founded by Steve Faustin in 2020, VIFF was built with the intention to allow models, designers, and brands an opportunity to showcase their creative talent, as well as network with the Vancouver fashion community — and we got to open for it!
We learned about the event just a month shy of showtime, which made our inclusion in the grand opening show that much sweeter. Among an amalgamation of over 30 other designers and boutiques, Steve told us that he absolutely loved our concept and the way we use and promote bright, vibrant colours; stating that Banu’s style is an embodiment of his vision for VIFF. We were so honoured to hear that kind of feedback from someone as involved as Steve.
Being a 100% E-commerce operation since our inception last year, this was the first time that we got to take advantage of direct consumer interaction. That’s something that E-commerce businesses generally lack, but is extremely important in the fashion industry. Needless to say, this show meant a lot to us at Banu. It was such an incredible feeling to see our currently available designs come to life on the runway — all of our hard work finally on display for all to see. After the show, we spoke with a number of attendees who expressed their interest in and adoration for our collections, which was the icing on the cake of the entire event. Hearing such positive things from people about what we’re doing here at Banu truly gives us confidence in our work and certainly supports our core message that bright, bold style is a driving factor for personal positivity and growth.
As things slowly start to get rolling again, we’re very excited for what the future holds — we cannot wait to show you what else we’ve been working on!
